Vintage Jazz & Swing
Music Bio
Luke’s rich and smooth crooning takes inspiration from both sides of the Atlantic, drawing comparison to the likes of Bing Crosby, Al Bowlly and Nat King Cole. Grittier, bluesy numbers are delivered with gusto and (as his lockdown music videos attest) Luke knows how to wring the comedic value out of a novelty song. His guitar style provides the perfect counterpoint to his voice, conjuring hot club rhythms and the driving swing of a big band. Luke is a highly regarded ukulele player, evoking the sweet stylings of the instrument’s first wave of popularity in the 1920s.
Luke has performed at local festivals, private functions and public events, as well as having put on highly successful ticketed shows. He has even performed live musical accompaniment to Hitchcock’s 1927 silent film, ‘The Lodger’.
During the pandemic Luke has channelled his creative energy into producing comedy music videos for friends and family, as well as hosting live-streamed concerts from home.
